Weigh-in Wednesday

Actually ON a Wednesday. I know, I know, hold your applause.  :)

I lost 2.6 pounds tonight, and am about a half pound away from losing 40 lbs total!

I don't have any great words of wisdom tonight, so I'll quote one of my dearest, best friends, Jeni, concerning weight loss.

"Shut 'yer pie hole!"

Silly, but great advice. Sometimes, we just need to choose not to eat. Now before I get comments from people thinking I've gone off the deep end, I'm not talking about your main three meals, or even healthy snacks.  But if everyone is going out for....coffee, icecream, pizza, soda, etc. doesn't mean you have to as well.  Go along, have fun - even carry the conversation, but shut 'yer pie hole, and don't eat!  The less non-essential snacking, the faster you'll lose.

Are any of the rest of you dieting? I'd love to hear from you!
Stacy

  1. Yay for another great weigh-in! I love your friend's advice. It makes me giggle, but it is so very true! I'm at a plateau that I refused to recognize until, well, after a month of nothing happening (and I was even expecting this plateau). Every, every, EVERY time my body reaches this exact weight, I yoyo trying to get past it. It stinks. I'll get there though! I keep trying to change something the way they tell you to when you hit a plateau. I may try the pool this coming week, though my back still hurts a bunch. I don't want to set myself back, you know?

  2. thanks Kendra. I'm working my butt off...literally! Clothing is getting looser and looser, which is a great feeling! I still feel like I have forever to go, but every day I'm getting smaller. I have to keep telling myself that.
I noticed that you didn't post your weigh-in last week on your blog and was wondering if you had had a bad week. Swimming proabably wouldn't be so bad on your back - even if you just walked back and forth in the shallow end of the pool. One thing our TOPS chapter leader said which I thought was wise, but simple was this: something is always better than nothing. You can do this, Kendra! Fight past the plateau and keep working!! Did you weigh in yet this week?

  3. Stacy, you've motivated me to work harder to lose my excess weight. So far I've lost 5 pounds. Not much, but still better than gaining or even staying the same. I'm impressed at your openness to share this. Thanks!
