Christmas 'Do #1

We are in a Christmas production this weekend, so we're trying out a few new styles before then.  Here is one that has been done on a ton of blogs in different ways - but here is our "spin" on it for Christmas!
All I did was make six twist braids on the top of her head.
Then I took every other one, and pulled it to one side, and did the same on the other side, securing with a clear elastic. The flowers are clips I put in through the top of each elastic.  Simple, pretty, easy!  If I were to do this for the show, I'd curl the ends of her hair as well.

It's fun to have a princess!

Have a great day!

Zig Zag French Braids

We needed a "tight" 'do for Oliver practice tonight...there is a lot of dancing involved!   I was just going to do regular french braids, but why not add a twist?
All I did was section her hair in three sections on each side of her head and braid and up and down.  She had to sit for me to do this style, and tilt her head in a bit of a funky way, but I think it came out cute!

That's all folks!  :)
Hope your day is sunnier than it is around here.  We have lots to do today, so I'm glad we are stuck inside.
Have a great one!

Cross Over "X" braids

I found this style here: http://cute2tryhairdos.blogspot.com/2008/10/cross-over-braids.html  We needed a quick and easy do.  I am thrilled (and possibly a little embarassed?) to say that this stayed in her hair for FOUR DAYS!  When we took it out (sorry, no picts) it was so pretty and curly.  Here's our take on that 'do:

We had a busy but fantastic weekend as a family - will update with photos (tomorrow?).  I hope your weekend was just as fun!

another Criss Cross 'do

I found this gem at Babes in Hairland: http://www.babesinhairland.com/2009/06/single-knots-criss-cross.html  - this mother is AMAZING!!  Really, don't click on the above link unless you want to spend a good amount of time on her site.     Here is our take on that do:

This was a cute, fast, one-day kinda style.  Bee opted out of the bows and flowers for the day, and wanted a straight part instead of a zig-zag one.  What do you think?
Our weekend has been glorious.  Beautiful weather, a talent show, the opening of the little league season, an amazing new message series at church on communication in your marriage - what more could you possibly ask for than that?
God is good.  As always, feel free to copy,

criss cross 'do into a side pony

Ugh. I've been sick - so my beautiful girl's rainbow 'do lasted a few more days than anticipated!   :0)  Thank heaven for hair styles that last several days!

I've been wanting to try this style http://cute2tryhairdos.blogspot.com/search/label/criss-cross%20do for a while now, and sadly, I didn't do it very well.  My problem was two fold - my part wasn't quite right (I didn't leave enough hair on the right side to continue the x's) and I used to much hair in each small pony - but live and learn, right?

It still turned out pretty cute- and today is day two of it with a different flower, so it also holds up well.  Anyhow, not so bad for coming off of feeling like death for three days.  :)

I hope you have all been well.  If there is a great hairstyle out there you've seen that you'd like me to try, or want tips on, let me know!
