Topsy Tail Rainbow Headband

This is an easy style that is adorable, and keeps your little girl's hair out of her face!!   Section the hair into six tiny ponies.  We chose rainbow colors (of course!).  When that is done, simply use the topsy tail tool to make the ponies lay flat.  That all!  Here is how it turned out:
Of course, when little miss is done, she needs a coffee break.  :)  J/K it's actually tea - and it was mine - but she grabbed it!  I have a feeling that I'm going to have teenage coffee or tea drinkers on my hands.  :)
I have a feeling that you'll be seeing lots of "headband" styles until little miss's hair grows in a bit.   That's okay - I love the way they look, and generally they stay in for a few days.
Enjoy the summer sun!

Funky Upside Down Piggies

I have to start off by saying that I never took a photo of the final "final" part of this 'do.  When I was done with the piggies, I  curled the ends - and it looked so cute!  Anyhow - you'll get the idea. This was a cute shorty 'do, but only lasted one day - by that night, it had fallen out.  First I made a piggie:

Then I put the topsy tail in upside down, and pulled the hair up and out.
I laid half of the pony off the left and half to the right, then added a bow in the center.
Once her hair was dry, I curled the ends - which was so adorable - but I forgot to take a photo of that part. Anyhow, a quick, easy 'do that looks sweet.  :)  Enjoy!

Alex's Birthday Weekend and Father's Day (with a hidden hairstyle for good measure)!

Last weekend was a blast!
We started off Friday night at a local baseball game, the Bmets - which also happened to be the boy's t-ball sponsor this year, so we had to "suit up" to go!

Later on, after the game was over (they won!!), we stayed for this special treat:

We had so much fun!
The next day was Alex's birthday celebration day (his actual birthday fell on Father's day this year, so we celebrated Alex the day before his actual day - and a bit on his day as well).
His party was at a local roller skating rink.  There were a ton of awesome shots, but I'll just share a few of my favorites:
Alex's "big" gift this year was roller blades - he did such a good job on them!

(You can see Bee's hair  here - just a simple french braid headband that is pinned behind her ear - cute!
Then we got to play laser tag - which was where everyone said they had the most fun!!

This was my favorite photo of the day - a father daughter team - I had just told them both to look "fierce" - at least one of them got it!

I just love this side of my girlie girl...
The next day, we celebrated father's day by going out to eat at our favorite restaurant, Los Tapatios:

And then finally out to see Toy Story 3 in 3D.  They tried to pose like the last air bender...
Waiting for the movie to start...
Trying to look "cool". (Notice that her hair is still in - day two - I just re combed and added a bow to match her outfit!)
Their totally hot daddy...  :)
Then we came home and crashed. It was an awesome weekend!
Happy Birhtday Alex Paul, and Happy Father's Day to the most incredible father/husband I've ever met!

Oh, and for the benefit of my friend Mindy - here is the "at home" cake we made for when grandparents came to visit the weekend before:

Can you tell what my boys is into these days??

Weigh-in Wednesday

I have nothing exciting in the world of dieting to share, other than to move, move, move!  We had Alex's birthday and Father's day this weekend, and went out to eat twice!!  But...I moved "extra" on those days to makeup for the sinful calories (and soda!!) I consumed.  I found this crazy big hill right down the street from where I live that I can walk up and jog down.  It is two miles total (one mile up, one mile down) but I think I got a better workout on those days than I did with my "normal" three mile walk!

Tonight, I lost another 3.6lbs, bringing my grand total of weight loss to 43 pounds so far!  Woo!!  I'm seeing numbers on the scale that I haven't seen since before Jacob was born.   So, I guess I've finally lost Jacob's baby weight, and now I'm on to losing Alex's.  :)  After that, it will be on to Bridgette's...and then I'll be back to college weight.  Woah. Can't even imagine that.  Let's hope I can keep this up with the Lord's help and my family's encouragement!

Another headband

The 'do I did yesterday (which is awake and still beautiful today - we'll just need to curl and fluff the back) is kinda like this one: http://www.princesshairstyles.com/2010/06/woven-hair-headband.html except that I twisted her hair instead of weaving it.  I do want to try it the way that mom did when I have more time to sit. (HA!!) Then I used my curling iron and a little hair spray to flip the ends out instead of under.  I think it turned out really cute! Here's our take on that style:

Okay, so whenever we do the "last shot" I always tell her to pose however she wants - almost always we get a tongue sticking out - not too sure what's up with that, but it certainly shows her personality!!
As my mom would say, we're a-movin' and a-shakin' around here today. Lots of places to go and things to do.  But we'll be rewarded tonight when we go to a local minor league baseball game. FUN!!!  I'm spoiled and blessed, and feeling quite happy this sunny Friday morning.  Have a fantastic day!

Puffy Braid Headband for Short Hair

I'm pretty sure I've done this one before: http://cute2tryhairdos.blogspot.com/2009/09/time-for-another-short-one.html but it looks so much cuter on her shorter hair!  It's a quick and easy style, and even with short hair, it lasted two days.  Here are our results!

Have a fantastic day, and remember to squeeze your babies and your main man today.  Today I'm going to say a prayer for everyone who reads this blog post. That your day will be blessed, and that you will see the hand of God througout all that you do.  Make today count!
